Wasurerarenai~

Wasurerarenai

Story & Art: Yukari Kawachi
Publisher: Kodansha
Rating: Older Teen (16+)
Synopsis: (mangaupdates.com) A story of love and loss. Nae and Ryou have been going out for almost three years, but then something changes...

Art Review: 2.5/5

I don't like it, I don't hate it. Although the faces look very odd at times with the chin angling, and the fact that their faces are sometimes all squished together like a Picasso or those cats with the squished up faces. The detailing is pretty, however, which compensates a little.

Story Review: The first couple lines of the manga... Juice, earlobes, not blessed... Wha? And the next couple pages is a flashback where she writes a letter to a boy she likes. "I only know you by name.." If that's so, how do you know you really like him, then? See, this is one of those things where you fall in love with a nice guy but then he turns out to be a huge dick. And as if this Nae person couldn't be more naive, she trusts in Ryo's promise to publish her children's book. You're buying into it, you're buying into it, ye dumb broad (this is the sort of person that is so foolish I'd like to punch her in the FACE.) What is it with people and thinking that sex on the beach is so romantic? Ooh, so lovey dovey, sand in places you didn't know you could get them into. So chafey, really. And when her dad does catch her for going on a trip with Ryo, I'd think that he would be a little more vulgar and mad. All he does is say,"YOU BAD KID" That's like going up to a serial killer and when it's time to intervene and tell him something to make him change, you just say,"That's not very nice. Now, we're not going to do this again, right? Good boy. Now go brush your teeth, it's time for naps." Also, with the fact that they found her out so easily, you really suck at making alibis. After being condemned she tries to call him. What I'm thinking is, why is it that Ryo seems confused when he answers the phone? "Na....eh?" Also, that's a really odd way to answer a phone. "I'm Higuchi" "Um, I know. Well.. hello there?" Since it is a tragedy manga, there are going to be scenes where you just see people fall over in despair. However I could never take it seriously in this manga when every time Nae dons her look of despair she looks like she's being anally probed. She says on the next page,"I have the saddest expression in the world." Oh, boo hoo HOO. WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN IN AFRICA I keed the over dramatic assholes I'm not the type to sic guilt trips on people. Whoa girl, easy there on the pills.. PILLZ HERE. Eiji says that he's loved as many there are cakes at the party. Does that make you a glutton/whore? And what's that supposed to mean, when you drop all of them? That all your ex's committed suicide? Eiji's kinda thoughtless, for the "new guy who's really nice". "Oh, you don't like my smoking? Well, you'll get used to it" Nice restaurant name. 'Italian HO' Is that the Jersey Shore restaurant? If only they were actually Italian, this joke would make much more sense.. Eiji's mindset: Prove to someone you love them by ripping off their clothes. Nae is superhuman. She escaped the car crash without a scratch. But something about this Takano guy seems a little suspicious... Like someone's she's met before... Or the mysterious hot 15 year old you met on the internet who suddenly wants to meet you in a forest far away from the city. Despite tragic and sad the ending is, with *spoilers* Ryo dying and whatever and him being Takano all along *spoilers* it's kind of a boring manga, with a boring plot, and a boring heroine who is just too dependent for her own good.

5/10
