Egaku Nara Happy Ending

OhHaiDer :]

Dammit I want my sun D;
Anyway
Today I bring you..
Egaku Nara Happy Ending~ (quite a mouthful xD)

Egaku Nara Happy Ending

Story & Art: Ira Ozaki
Publisher: Shogakukan
Rating: 13+
Synopsis: (myanimelist.net) It's a story about Makoto Nosu and Yusuke Moriyama who have been together for 6 years since junior high school. They are about to finish high school and enter college so they decided to break up since they will be going to different colleges that's far from one another. What happens to their relationship then?

Art Review: 3.5/5

I didn't particularly enjoy this style. The facial expressions kind of remind me of Crayon Shin Chan, and for anyone who knows of this manga know that the art style is just crude, and it might be cruel of me to compare this manga, a cute shoujo, to a gross comedy, but that's just me, honestly. For this type of manga I would have preferred a bit more detailed art.

Story Review: I read the synopsis of the manga and thought to myself, "Oh balls, not ANOTHER one of these." There are a huge amount of manga that follow this story line, like Bokura Ga Ita (which is a similar manga you should take a look at~), but this manga is rather refreshing. Instead of the hardcore drama that usually partakes in this sort of manga, the feelings of Matoko and Yusuke are rather subtle and are not pushy and all up in your face like the girl/guy in your class with the depth perception problem who seems to be counting all the pores in your right cheek, breathing creepily into your neck and making you think that you're being hunted by an asthmatic vampire. I enjoyed that as they are 'breaking up' they seem happy as they remember their last memories together and are not like the typical shoujo protagonists where they just scream the other's name and cry for several hours and half attempt to kill themselves (sounds familiar? It should.) However I just can't take the last dramatic scene all too seriously because Matoko's crying noises kind of reminded me of a redneck's laughing. (hyuk hyuk hyuk. I shit you not that's how it was translated.) I really enjoyed this story, there's something about it that makes it so much cuter than other shoujos like this. I would have enjoyed, however, if the promise was not for 1 year, rather, if it was for 'if we meet again' and they meet again somehow with connection of a novel she wrote about her teenage experiences, and he reads it. Or something like that. But that's just me. Overall, a cute, coming of age story, that we can all wish that our romances would be as cute as.

Ai To Okane

OhHaiDer :]

Marigold - Nirvana
Beautiful song :]
Anyway
Today I bring you
Ai To Okane~

Ai To Okane

Story & Art: Tateno Makoto
Publisher: Hakusensha
Rating: 13+
Synopsis: Jin's grandma wants one of her three grandsons to inherit her company. But the condition which the boys need to satisfy is -- earning 5 million yen!? While Jin is busy working for the impossible amount of money, a girl comes out of no where and asks him to marry her. What's more, the girl is in possession of 2 billion yen!?

Art Review: 3/5

Just another really plain art style, and doesn't contribute much to the work itself. The artwork somewhat reminds me of Yuu Watase. And if you notice there's a change (I didn't really) in art styles, apparently between the one shot and the series, there's a 10 year difference.

Story Review: With the first panels of an old lady yelling at some young men, I can tell that this is going to be the sort of story where a lot of money affairs are going to be involved, and a lot of slapping and mentioning that people are "bastard children" or something. Of course, this manga never gets that deep, unfortunately. What really bugs me about these one shots is that none of them even seems remotely finished. They seem to end randomly. The first one is about a competition between 3 grandsons to make 5,000,000 yen and earn Grandma's estate. Jin's mother obviously pushes him to do it, giving him a corrupted speech about how money brings you happiness and love is worthless. Jin sees a girl, dramatic shoujo flowers. Foreshadowing.. *dun dun dunnnn* So much goes by in several panels of this manga, I'm so confused.. Once I catch up, Jin seems a bit bratty about working. Oh boohoo. You're going to have to work like everyone else.. Like.. *gasp* a commoner! -insert Ouran High School Host Club reference here- He continues this complaining like the rich brat like he is.. "...So many housewife chores" Not only are you spoilt, but you are sexist. You deserve to be ironically owned. I don't get this guy at all. Ling puts a book on his head, and he continues on having his troubled reflection about how incompetent he is compared to the other rich kids with ambitions and hobbies. Jin then meets the girl again. Crap, this is one of those manga where the guy makes a promise to a girl in a puppy love situation as a kid and she remembers it later as if she wasn't ever liked and relies on this stupid promise. Jin, you are also homophobic, hating on the hot guy with his lover and calling it messed up. But here's where I'm also confused.. Your company owes billions of dollars, and your daughters contributed to a lot of it with their spending habits? What, were they using suntan lotion made out of diamonds and using $1000000 dollar checks to wipe their noses? That kinda reminded me of this.. I found this quote very amusing when they were trying to make Ai sound really deep.. "To Ai-chan love is more important than bread or money" Because bread is really important. Oh boohoohoo Jin your life is so awkward because you have a gay roommate who isn't interested in you and a guy who is really really interested in anime (if you can't tell, I really hate this guy.) And other people in the manga hate him too, evidently. Shop Guy: Yes, yes, I would love to have such a cute girl working here. Jin: Um.. It's me who needs a job. -cock block face- And as if it isn't enough, his cousins ruin a sentimental moment with their hatred "Because I hate you so much I was able to succeed." The second one-shot starts with a guy who's jewellery place is called Imitation. Calling your jewellery place Imitation is like openly buying a Cubic Zircon ring for your girlfriend. The girl just walks in and knows he's a con man. Does that mean I could walk into my local bakery and my baker will be a prostitute? What is it with this manga, anyway? Every straight male is a homophobe. Some thug grabs Wu and he says,"Stop holding me it's disgusting" Li Huang is such a brat. She's tied up and could possibly be killed and she's worrying about if the ropes will leave scars on her. Li Huang's father is a whore, for sure. Somehow he was shagging enough women that two of them gave birth to a child on the same day. In the next chapter as they try to seduce Shan Ben to get him into a scandal, they try to use music. But unfortunately, Shan is with music as a white guy is with Call of Duty. The perfect getaway.. Call the said person a cop with gang members around and they will beat the shit out of him. Ma Li is so indecisive. She wants to get out the marriage by getting him in trouble but as soon as they actually come up with something to get him in a scandal she runs and tells him anyway. The Siee drug=worst drug ever? Try taking Charlie Sheen. And more irony comes as the hunters became the hunted, Shan Ben was conning the con man. The final one shot starts with a girl wishing that a boy would become hers. The fairies do her bidding, as shown as he suddenly calls her to ride on his bike. What a loving gesture! Except for the fact she falls down the stairs. And of course with wishes the one who granted the wish comes out and teaches her a lesson. Although I wish that she would have worded it differently, as she says," You humans.. Don't even know what you truly want. You bunch always say you want to make XXX yours." This whole one shot in a nutshell reminds me of xXxHoLic. Overall, this collection of one-shots could have been a lot better. The whole lot were confusing, and this mangaka even had 10 years to think about it.

Leona Explosion~

Leona Explosion

Story & Art: Kotoyoshi Yumisuke
Publisher: Shonen Gahosha
Rating: 18+ (Highly NSFW)
Synopsis: (tenmanga.com) This is Dakichi Kamiyama. A College Student at Toudai University. He had came back to his home town to attend such a prestigious University. He happened upon a cafe where once stood a great wrestling arena lead by the "Amazoness kitty." Now three daughters remain running it. Yukihyou (Who has taken a sudden interest in him.) Ferris (A rather ditzy young woman.) And Leona (A Tsundere-ish big boobed girl with a rather "Unique" Ability in the wrestling ring.) Join Daikichi "sandbag" Kamiyama as he endures the trails ahead of him with these Bombshells.

Art Review: 4/5

Majority of the art is good, although I don't know the standards for ecchi manga, since I don't read a lot of it. There's an obvious difference in details of the girls bodies than with other things. Although maybe it is because it isn't my taste, but I don't like the character design of Ferris. She looks more deformed than anything.

Story Review: I can tell from the first page, with the pink body suits and the cat theme and the female wrestlers that this is either going to be really scary or really cheesy. And Leona is going to scare me. "Although you're a man you have no balls," she says to Daikichi. I think that girl probably has enough testosterone in her to HAVE balls. With the design of Leona, I predicted that every girl in this manga is going to have huge tits. And I was right. Allll abooooooooooard. Next stop, fanservice! But of course, beside all these macho and well endowed girls he's really wimpy. He even got beaten up by them 10 years ago. ..Mamazoness Kitty? I really don't want to know how someone came up with THAT name. Note to guys: If you ever want to get laid with a wrestler (god help you sir), they really like smart guys, as Daikichi mentions that he's going to an Ivy League school, and Yukihyori just starts hitting on him. And once again I am astounded by the fanservice. These girls' boobs are so huge, they get their own panel when someone is having a conversation with one of them. The derp faces in this manga scare me, though. What I find so amusing about this manga is that in other manga, where all the girls are really skinny and not buff at all nearly kill the heroes in the story. In this manga, these girls could actually kick your ass. Well, that's really awkward. "When she gets sexually excited she does finishing moves whether she wants to or not," There are so many jokes about this I don't even know where to start. The guy who molests Leona tells her to pay up for his hospital bills for $3000 or take a bath with him. I would think it would take a little more than $3000 to heal your emasculated soul. Besides, if you got kicked in the head for touching her boobs, what makes you think that she'll take a bath with you now? Good cheerleading, Ferris! "If you lose you will have to face my wrath!" Nothing inspires someone to win than the prospect of getting your ass whipped by another wrestler. Leona has difficulty fighting the new wrestler because the weight difference is too great. I'm surprised, her boobs are probably half her weight. And it makes me wonder, with her tendency to kill someone if they turn her on.. I wonder what would happen if you gave her an orgasm. The Kitty sisters (I can never take that seriously) have an interesting way to bring in business. "Fight your favourite waitress" I'm sure that all those people were masochistic, or weren't even planning to fight at all. That's a bad deal, though, in reality. You pay money AND you get your ass kicked. Whoever wrote this manga is terrible as a person. You mention the father may have cancer. Everyone thinks, "Aww." In a couple panels, some more fanservice and beating the bishop. When it comes to the sex scenes, there's a really awkward censor bar, which just makes the pages not at all awkward but hilarious. Also, Yukihyou, you're kind of a whore. Poor Daikichi though, throughout this whole series, he's going to have blue balls. But then again, I can't feel much pity for him, since it seems that with him making Leona fighting outfits, it looks like he just wants to see her in skimpy outfits, not helping her succeed. I know that sometimes the english translation comes out a little funny in manga, but I kinda chucked at this translation," Hmph, yeah right, like I'd be caught dead fighting a noob." I wonder what the Japanese word for noob is. Doronuma fails to win at a festival shooting game, gets all Rambo on your ass. On the courage test they hear 'ghost noises' only to find it's the sound of girls having orgasms. I fail to understand how one mistakes sex noises for ghosts. The person in the costume who beat up Yukihyou kind of looks like a combination between Cat Face and Domo. And the euphemism they use for a boner the first time is just horrifying. Elephant trunk -> Penis. Enough said. When describing Mamazoness Kitty (That's still stupid) they at one point say," She was the wrestler that used sadistic moves." It almost seems like it's being implied that there are wrestlers that use masochistic moves. Mamazoness Kitty just did a naked photo shoot. Since all these girls are terribly ripped I really wouldn't want to see them in the nude. In the manga they look all nice, but I assure you they look more like this. Near the ending, there's nothing special, just a random art change, and a terrible predictable ending. It's kind of expected though, with the terrible names and the terrible plot. I thought with the build up of suspense and rivals that this manga would go on longer and not leave things unexplained. Not that I'm complaining that this manga isn't longer, I was glad I finished it well enough.

Get Chu

OhHaiDer :]

Sorry I are late
I was in Mississauga all day
Is it weird that when I think of the word Mississauga I think of the campfire song from Spongebob?
Anyways
Today I bring you
Get Chu <3~

Get Chu <3

Story & Art: Ayane Ukyou
Publisher: Shueisha
Rating: 13+
Synopsis: (mangaupdates.com) Chitose is eager to fall in love, and she thinks she's found the perfect candidate in Yamato. Yamato is good-looking, considerate... and a little bit of a delinquent! Chitose discovers that Yamato takes money for kisses and dates! Chitose wants Yamato's lips for herself, but she has absolutely no intention of paying for them. Look out, Yamato, because Chitose -- a refreshingly spirited heroine -- is out to Get Chu!

(That was a terrible pun, honestly.)

Art Review: 3/5

The art in this manga is not all too special. The guys are somewhat handsome, but the girls either look like boys, whores or just too young for their age. I hear in Ukyou's new work, the artwork is much better, I can only hope so.

Story Review: I know I'm ragging on this pretty hard. I know that it's a common shoujo trait to have a girl who looks like a boy only because she has no boobs and an asian bob. But when Yamato kicks the ball at her and hits her in the face I blanked out for a second and thought I had stumbled onto another yaoi. But she is wearing a skirt and no one is cross dressing so it is indeed a girl (sometimes this trend bothers me a wee bit.) Out of pure boldness (or nervousness, I can't tell with this broad at times) she refuses help from Yamato and takes tissue and sticks it up her nose. They start laughing because she looks like a grade schooler. I start laughing because that's what guys in manga and anime do as a precaution for arousal related nosebleeds. I'm actually rather curious as to whether or not that happens (or happened) in real life. With slice of life manga, the heroine usually gets in trouble often and the hero saves her but I swear Chitose is going to end up falling in front of a train accidentally hoping that Yamato will catch her or something. Uh oh, Tomo, don't bring Chitose to a goukon. As another stereotype people get taken away from goukons and get killed and/or raped, or the rape occurs DURING the goukon. But then again, Chitose is just different from other heroines so we can expect different, I suppose. Really now, Yamato? $10 for a kiss? Cheap whore. I know in a lot of shoujos people say "kisses taste like lemons", but I wasn't aware of the counter part, "forcing yourself onto someone tastes like onions." Note to self: When forcing yourself onto someone, take breath mints with you. I find this manga rather amusing when the girl thinks that giving random creepy kisses is a sign of love. One thing that sticks out to me, why is is that the handsome guys are all really smart in these manga? That doesn't happen often in reality. Um.. Yamato is eating a chocolate Korone? Doesn't that sound a lot like the engrish for chocolate colon? Oh Japan.. you and your... stuff... At this point, I don't know if she loves him, or if she's just taking stalking to the next level. She's lucky she's a girl, and stalking isn't much of a girl thing. I find it funny that with all the girls beating up on Chitose for being around Yamato and such, it's almost like one prostitute has a shitload of pimps, rather than the other way around. Hey kids! Let's do some math.. Yamato + Curtain + Mysterious Girl + Chitose = ??? If you guessed 'shit goes down', for once you are wrong! Yamato plays nice and gets rid of the girl to spend time with Chitose. Yamato might seem nice from this view, but he's a mysterious little bastard, he is. One panel he says he loves her and the next he says it's no good. Chitose has a bit of right in saying,"I'm not your toy!" But her next move to get over Yamato is a bad one, going out with Ishihara. That would never work with someone as easily jealous as Yamato. Although this is a manga, I do appreciate the reality striking Yamato as they suspend him for his near prostitution ring. In the final dramatic scene, in a standard manga, it's supposed to be inspiring.. Tear jerking.. Heart warming.. Unfortunately for someone like myself a terribly worded conversation ruins everything. Yamato: "The only one I'll kiss is Chitose" Chitose: "Me too" That sounds a little too narcissistic to be taken seriously for me. And with the intended context of kissing, that would be physically impossible. Like eating your own head. But the sweetness does come back a little, until their kissing drags on for 3 pages. Really, guys? Get a room you two. And remember, no hickeys. When it comes to the scene of everyone being suspended at the same time, everyone starts kissing because it would get one suspended. What made me facepalm was that there were so many girls in the room, but no, they decided to try and fit in some fan service by having Ishihara kiss Yamato. Shame on you Ukyou, shame. And it makes me wonder where Ukyou wants the readers minds to go when she has Chitose narrate,"I wonder what kind of kiss we'll have next?" Um.. fellatio? I keed the easily misinterpreted statement. Overall, I found this manga was refreshing, with Chitose's boldness. It was cute, but still just a tad creepy.

Hellstar Remina

OhHaiDer :]

It seems everyone survived the Christian apocalypse if you're reading this.
But why on earth does it have to be so sweaty today?
Anyway
Today I bring you
Hellstar Remina~

Hellstar Remina

Story & Art: Junji Ito
Publisher: Shogakukan
Rating: 18+
Synopsis: (wikipedia.com) Set in the future, where humanity has already established colonies on both Mars and the Moon, Professor Oguro, an astronomer in a Japanese observatory, peering into his telescope one night, becomes the first person to witness a planet emerging from a wormhole. Oguro names the planet after his only daughter, Remina, and both become world-famous thanks to the unprecedented discovery. Years later however, things take a turn for the worse when the planet enters a collision course with Earth, while stars seem to be disappearing within the wandering celestial body's path. The oncoming 'Planet Remina' eventually enters the Solar System, and to everyone's shock and terror, is instead revealed to be a massive creature from another dimension, that consumes worlds smaller than itself. Mars, and its human inhabitants, are among those devoured by Remina, as the horrific monstrosity continues towards Earth. As the fateful end draws near, the young girl of whom Planet Remina was named after, along her father Oguro, now become the subjects of persecution by the population of Earth, who believe that she is directly responsible for the coming cataclysm. Thus begins a brutal, worldwide witch hunt for the two, with the intent of killing them both as sacrifices, in the desperate hope that it will somehow stop the otherworldly beast.

Art Review: 4/5

In this sort of manga the art is not necessarily very important, as it is the content and the story line, but the art was pretty well done. The design of the planet Remina was pretty interesting, as I mention later on it does remind me of the Alien movie, or something from Princess Monoke.

Story Review: I find it really ironic that I read this manga on the day of the Rapture (which, if you are not aware of, is the Christian belief that YESTERDAY was the end of the world) with Remina getting half crucified in the beginning. What? There's a planet going at the speed of light? How would you know that? If it was going at that speed I don't think you'd see it.. I should get myself named after a planet. I'll get famous and everything! I don't really trust Minechi's rape face, there. Speaking upon faces, this manga has a boat load. Perhaps, a FACE PARADE? (only one person actually knows what the hell I am talking about. For the rest of you, here is a picture of a cow. Please do not fap to it, I will not be able to sleep for days if you do.) For example, this face that the worker is making while staring at the planet monitor, which looks like this. He goes crazy, shortly after realising that Remina is approaching the solar system with great speed. You see, Asian countries, this is why you give your workers days off and such. Maybe even a coffee break, and a human resource guy who won't tell you to just go back to work in a terribly racist voice. Wait, what? The planet turned around itself and started to go towards the Solar System? Of its own free will? What now, is the planet going to extend an arm out and flip the bird at us or something? And the planet starts to destroy the outer planets. I couldn't help but giggle when the scientists said that 'Uranus was annihilated.' Soon it blows up Saturn. I don't understand how, though, Remina is a tiny planet. Too much defying of the laws of Physics here.. And the people start going berserk. See, this is how people are going to act on 2012. And I was right about the arm thing, it picked up Mars and ate it. The planet has a face (which resembles something from Picasso) And it just ate the moon. Are we going to miss it? Hey guys, I know you're desperate, but if this planet's blown up all the outer planets just by colliding into it, what makes you think ground-to-air are going to work against it? And you guys are a failure as a mob too. You guys got someone in a jetpack and you still can't catch her. I assume this is supposed to be a form of censorship but Daisuke at one point tells the guys chasing Remina that they are bad mothers. I... am so offended. First an earthquake, then the planet smashes the people with its tongue, then a tsunami while you're tied to a cross? Did I forget to mention that the cross was on fire? I think you have Jesus beat, there. You know, escaping to a planet that has a FACE on it might not be the greatest idea. Like going to that planet in the Alien movie. For one, the air on Remina is so toxic that it melts people. Nice weather we're having here today on Apocalyptic planet here. Remina spun the planet so everyone starts flying. They start flying over South America at one point. Shouldn't they be seeing women with huge asses flying by right about now? And now we see that not only does Remina's atmosphere kill people, it turns them into Picasso faces with huge tongues. I knew it. I saw this plot twist coming. The creepy guy from her fan club is the one ordering her crucifixion. Remina has teeth too.. (the planet that is, I'm not calling the heroine toothless) Me: Oh Remina, what large teeth you have? Remina: The better to eat your planet with! Also, it needs more salt. The ending seems pleasant enough, with Remina getting away in Minechi's basement, but is that really going to seem pleasant when it sort of turns into a Lord of the Flies scenario? Overall, I really enjoyed the story. The short story is quite interesting as well, although I wish they wouldn't have mentioned John Lennon. Now I'm going to imagine people sown together when I think of him. Not that it would bother me but that's not the sort of thing to be imagining when listening to music, not even if John Lennon smoked your weight in drugs.

Hotel

OhHaiDer :]

There's too much rain lately ouo;
Today I bring you..
Hotel~

Hotel

Story & Art: Boichi
Publisher: Kodansha
Rating: Older Teen (16+)
Synopsis: (mangaupdates.com) It is the year 2272 A.D.
A computer continues to live on in order to complete a mission in a world where all life, including Mankind, has gone extinct. This is a record of those 27 million years of its heroic struggle.

Art Review: 3/5

The art is not entirely that special, it's just standard for an environmentally driven one-shot. It's detailed, but at times the events that happen are not too clear. I'll give it to the mangaka, it would be slightly difficult to illustrate unworldly things displayed in this manga, but a little more emphasis on what was happening would have been preferable.

Story Review: I actually found this a rather interesting manga, however little things do stick out to me. The description of the manga makes it sound like a computer is running a race for 27 million years. 'Heroic struggle.' Yeah, sure, against the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH *dun dun dunnnn* (I use a mac so I don't get the blue screen of death. Suckas.) And with humanity extinct there won't be any tech support now (come to think of it, even if humans were alive their tech support wouldn't help any.) So apparently where the computer is the last hotel standing? When I read that, this started playing in my head. While reading this manga I think to myself, the things described here don't fall far from the truth. How sad. I know this manga is supposed to be totally serious, but why the hell is Keira Knightley in here? I suppose that this is just the wish of all humanity that her baby is saved and they restart humanity with her genetics. And why is it that the father is old enough to be her grandfather? He also kinda looks like an emo David Suzuki. The robot they create to defend the DNA.. It's a really emotional R2D2. I'm kinda just imagining a pop can bursting out into tears.. And as they quote "What a Wonderful World" as humanity dies out I hear Louis' voice in my head. It's half humorous and nostalgic.. What I fail to understand about this manga is just how this computer, that can't move, is making all these things, like the repairs and such. Near the end, the earth cools and it starts to rain, and he starts to have hallucinations. I didn't know robots could have hallucinations. Or feelings for that matter. The aliens come soon enough (UFOs and everything), they kinda look like Pokemon. It's very heartfelt, the ending.. But I have something to say.. If you were to take this literally, the robot's brother should be black, to that logic of him being Louis Armstrong.. But both of the parents are Japanese... Something's not right here, Keira. Bad Keira, bad. All joking aside, this was a very interesting manga. I just wish there was a little elaboration with Louis' feelings in terms of him saving humanity (which in my opinion should not be revived, anyhow.)

Tama Hiyori

OhHaiDer :]

Really sorry about being late
Just a few more weeks
Maybe I'll even do a big series after all this crap is shunted out of the way
Who knows ;D
Anyways
Today I bring you
Tama Hiyori~

Tama Hiyori

Story & Art: Hiyohiyo
Publisher: Media Works
Rating: 18+ (NSFW)
Synopsis: (mangaupdates.com) As a boy, Taishi saved a tiny chick (as in an actual bird) that was being bullied by its brothers and sisters. And now it’s grown up into a hot girl who wants to cater to his every whim! Did we mention she lays eggs, too?

Art Review: 5/5

It's an epicly cute style. It's very pretty, and majority of the angles are pretty well done. The detailing is pretty amazing, and the censorship, no matter how obvious, is pretty good, I say. However the eyes (once again) kinda bug me out, especially Taishi's and Mike's eyes.

Story Review: Prolly one of the oddest ecchi I've ever read. And there are really odd things that I have read, trust me. And I knew just how this one would move along too with the first front page. On a side note: Those boobs could make someone go blind. Or the reason why there are so many blind people in the world. And we see where Taishi meets Hiyori.. She blushes when she sees him... Since when do chickens blush? Directly after that, Hiyori gets bullied by the other chickens. I don't really understand why, it's not like Hiyori has any lunch money or anything.. We can tell from Taishi's actions that he is going to be very chauvinistic, as he saves Hiyori from the other chickens. And upon my learning that Hiyori turns into a human, the following is my reaction: Whoa whoa whoa whoa... Whoa... Your chicken turned into a human? What kinda farms do they have in Japan? They must put something in the grain. And already, with the morning wood jokes. I know that happens naturally to people but I feel kinda sorry for Taishi.. Always getting blueballed by Hiyori. At least he doesn't get stuck in situations like this. Wait, she was just flashing him to... lay an egg? I know that girls have eggs inside them and they release one every month.. But this is NOT what they meant. And with the description they're giving it's something that might debut on 4chan.. Yeah, the manga seems dirty enough to have a 4chan reference tied to it. I don't wanna know if she actually manages to do that, but I have the feeling she actually will. Taishi's the man, though, ordering her around.. "MAKE ME BREAKFAST" But one minor thing that's bothering me about Hiyori making him breakfast and food in general, that I think the people who read it have noticed.. Hiyori's a cannibal.. She's a chicken but she made him everything with eggs in it.. Aaaaand not to make anyone's appetite lost for eggs (or their libido rise, depending on who it is..) she just laid an egg, after some NSFW shots. I wonder who gets off on this? Using egg laying as a euphemism for an orgasm. I assure you a real chicken laying an egg is not nearly as erotic and if you do find it to be as such there MAY be something wrong with you. It kinda made me laugh and smile at the same time (try not to imagine what that would look like) that the idiocy produced by Hiyori is somewhat contagious. Poor Taishi. And you know you have excessive fanservice when they have Hiyori trying to breast feed the baby chicken. Somewhere along the lines, this doesn't make much sense at all, but (paraphrased) as one man says to another,"Whatever gets her like that makes enough sense to me." When they lose Tama, they find her on top of a 20 ft pole. I fail to comprehend how a baby chicken got up there.. Did someone decide to be an asshole and say,"Hey look, a baby chick." *throws* It's kinda sad how Taishi is almost immune to being flashed in this chapter.. Hiyori climbs up a pole not wearing any panties to get Tama and all he has to say is that he's amazed that she somehow climbed up the telephone pole. I didn't know that chickens get fevers too.. What, is the next chick that is born going to have the ability to spew diarrhoea when it's sick? And since Hiyori's a chicken, I hope she isn't just going to go ahead and lay 12 eggs. That would remind me of the chicken version of that series 19 Kids And Counting.. (no seriously lady your vagina is not a clown car.) Ok, I'm relieved, there really isn't such thing as chicken - human puberty. I mean, human puberty is already terrible enough.. In the manga, before Tama learns English, all she says is cheep. That might seem cute in the manga, but can you imagine a girl screaming cheep all the damned time? I'm surprised no one arrests her for acting like a complete loony.  But now something has suddenly popped up in my head.. Where on Earth are Taishi's parents? Why is he allowed not just one but TWO random girls in his house? But that's not even the weirdest thing here (clearly). Sumitaka is not even going out with Taishi and and she knows already how she smells? He barely touched Tama while she was at home.. Going back to Tama's speech development, that's a very forward first sentence. "I want Taishi's thing!" You know, seeing in full body Sumitaka reminds me of Sakura Ganbaru from Street Fighter. She's all built.. I'm telling you, she looks like she could kick some ass, she does. Ooh, random mysterious feather, foreshadowing *dun dun dunnnnn* Ohohoho, ecchi, you and your oh-so-conveniently-loose-kimonos.. Loads of fun.. And speaking upon loose kimonos, one sure fire way to ruin the mood for your confession at the stereotypical confession place AKA. the cultural festival is to have a ninja sneak up behind you AKA. Tama with a mask. Not to mention she was asking for it, not wearing any undergarments while starring in a ecchi manga. Back to the foreshadowing, apparently you can go backwards in chicken puberty. Kinda reminds me of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Well, the laws of manga state that anything goes, I suppose. Taishi wonders to himself if they should make her wear clothes.. They make her clothes in the style she started in.. And for whatever reason, it looks like a S&M costume... Speaking upon gross, ugh, baby fanservice.. To what lengths will this ecchi go for fanservice? TO INFINITY, AND BEYOND~ And I told you Sumitaka would be kicking ass, she kicked a can to Taishi's head and it was an instant KO. Random cat on the roof, more obvious foreshadowing *dun dun dunnnnn* (see above) [yes, I'm that lazy] And I'm saying this again, Taishi's prolly the luckiest man alive. Two chicks always *ahem* greeting him in the morning. And yet they are so painfully naive. Ok, for a second when a girl by the name of Mike appeared I thought "well this manga can't get any stupider because I thought Mike was a transvestite. Turns out you have to just place the English name out of your head, it's pronounced Mee-Kay. Hiyori, even under school uniform you don't wear panties. Promiscuous much? And this Mike is pretty pervish. Somewhere in the world, someone else is reading this and is now pitching a tent. When Hiyori describes who molests her, however, I also thought of a bodybuilder.. And is now a bit more scarred than before. Sumitaka, you know you're a crazy cat lady when you bring your own cat to a swimming pool. I know cliff hangers are terrible in the first place.. But the way they worded this one just sounds wrong.. "His childhood friend, or his pet? Which will Taishi choose?" I don't know if this is some sort of childhood thing or a bestiality vs. Real life women. In an effort to keep Hiyori at a distance, Taishi says he loves Sumitaka. And she says thanks. What is he supposed to say, you're welcome? I love how the guys that get labelled as the "guys who harass the heroine" pop up more than once even though they got their asses kicked, even to the point of becoming side characters. Overall, this manga was ok, it certainly was very strange, it was a little humorous at times, but a little awkward, even when reading by yourself. I will warn you though, when I say it's NSFW, I really mean it is.

Wasurerarenai~

Wasurerarenai

Story & Art: Yukari Kawachi
Publisher: Kodansha
Rating: Older Teen (16+)
Synopsis: (mangaupdates.com) A story of love and loss. Nae and Ryou have been going out for almost three years, but then something changes...

Art Review: 2.5/5

I don't like it, I don't hate it. Although the faces look very odd at times with the chin angling, and the fact that their faces are sometimes all squished together like a Picasso or those cats with the squished up faces. The detailing is pretty, however, which compensates a little.

Story Review: The first couple lines of the manga... Juice, earlobes, not blessed... Wha? And the next couple pages is a flashback where she writes a letter to a boy she likes. "I only know you by name.." If that's so, how do you know you really like him, then? See, this is one of those things where you fall in love with a nice guy but then he turns out to be a huge dick. And as if this Nae person couldn't be more naive, she trusts in Ryo's promise to publish her children's book. You're buying into it, you're buying into it, ye dumb broad (this is the sort of person that is so foolish I'd like to punch her in the FACE.) What is it with people and thinking that sex on the beach is so romantic? Ooh, so lovey dovey, sand in places you didn't know you could get them into. So chafey, really. And when her dad does catch her for going on a trip with Ryo, I'd think that he would be a little more vulgar and mad. All he does is say,"YOU BAD KID" That's like going up to a serial killer and when it's time to intervene and tell him something to make him change, you just say,"That's not very nice. Now, we're not going to do this again, right? Good boy. Now go brush your teeth, it's time for naps." Also, with the fact that they found her out so easily, you really suck at making alibis. After being condemned she tries to call him. What I'm thinking is, why is it that Ryo seems confused when he answers the phone? "Na....eh?" Also, that's a really odd way to answer a phone. "I'm Higuchi" "Um, I know. Well.. hello there?" Since it is a tragedy manga, there are going to be scenes where you just see people fall over in despair. However I could never take it seriously in this manga when every time Nae dons her look of despair she looks like she's being anally probed. She says on the next page,"I have the saddest expression in the world." Oh, boo hoo HOO. WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN IN AFRICA I keed the over dramatic assholes I'm not the type to sic guilt trips on people. Whoa girl, easy there on the pills.. PILLZ HERE. Eiji says that he's loved as many there are cakes at the party. Does that make you a glutton/whore? And what's that supposed to mean, when you drop all of them? That all your ex's committed suicide? Eiji's kinda thoughtless, for the "new guy who's really nice". "Oh, you don't like my smoking? Well, you'll get used to it" Nice restaurant name. 'Italian HO' Is that the Jersey Shore restaurant? If only they were actually Italian, this joke would make much more sense.. Eiji's mindset: Prove to someone you love them by ripping off their clothes. Nae is superhuman. She escaped the car crash without a scratch. But something about this Takano guy seems a little suspicious... Like someone's she's met before... Or the mysterious hot 15 year old you met on the internet who suddenly wants to meet you in a forest far away from the city. Despite tragic and sad the ending is, with *spoilers* Ryo dying and whatever and him being Takano all along *spoilers* it's kind of a boring manga, with a boring plot, and a boring heroine who is just too dependent for her own good.

Onegai Twins!

OhHaiDer :]

That shade of blue burns me eyes.
Anyways
Today I bring you
Onegai Twins!~

Onegai Twins!

Story: Please!
Art: Akikan
Publisher: ComicsOne
Rating: Older Teen (16+)
Synopsis:(mangafox.com) Onegai Twins is a cute, incestuous love story between a boy and two girls who are supposedly his long-lost twin sisters. The story follows Maiku, Karen, and Miina. Maiku is a high school boy orphaned at an early age, now living in a house he believes is the house he grew up in.

Art Review: 4/5

An overall cute style. There's not much to say about it, except that I wished the mangaka would have spaced it out a little better, so that it's easier to read. Often enough I had to re-read the page so that it would make sense, although at times me having to re-read was on the pages with a tad bit of nudity and it sort of just made me look like a bit of a pervert. (I swear to you, I'm not as BAD as some people I know. At least I'm being honest, here)

Story Review: Since I've studied a wee bit of Japanese before my reading of this, the title both intrigued me and set me off, since it literally translates to "Please Twins!" The first 2 pages also set me off since there's a girl in a car, and then the guy driving randomly gropes her. The events that you are about to see are performed by professionals and should not be tried at home. ...no seriously don't try to grab some ass while driving, it might turn out worse than texting while driving. And Maiku makes a great impression, when Miina asks for directions you drive off while she's not looking. The student council president's kind of a creep, hiding in the cupboard, eavesdropping, with tea and cookies for whatever reason. Karen has this tear shaped monkey thing. It wasn't explained in the manga, so I'll ask now.. JUST WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THING FOR? *ahem* Anyways... Man, the Japanese and their European complex.. As soon as someone doesn't have the standard asian black hair brown eyes they are exotic. After Miina claims to be Maiku's brother, of course the Karen girl shows up and says the same thing. And what a way to introduce oneself. Say "squeeeee" and then pass the fuck out. I should use that to introduce myself for job interviews. Interviewer: So... Hilary. What do you have to offer to our company? Me: Squeeeeeeeeeee -passes out- Interviewer:.....you're hired! Maiku, you're awful, thinking that way about your sisters. Redneck much? He seems to be the sort to go to family reunions to pick up chicks. Speaking upon creepy, Miina's a creep, sliding under Karen when she has no clothes on to check for her gender. Karen tends to faint a lot so.. Bad visual.. (or good, depending on the person) Expanding on creepy, I know that this is a incest based manga, but I think it gets excessive when the gag of the manga is just some other guy who has the hots for his sister. What with the incest and all, it's dramatic because it's so forbidden and wrong, but it's a dumb way to make drama by having both girls randomly take off. Miina, such a sleeping pattern you have there. You know, people usually kick in their sleep or drool all over the place but I don't think anyone nearly goes to first base in their sleep. Tsubaki's a creep and so is the student council. Another council that invades student privacy. I'm starting to think that this is regulation in Japanese schools or something. I'm still confused about the Marie thing, though. All it says "no". That's terribly inconvenient for conversations. "Do you love me?" "No" "Don't you care for my feelings at all?" "No" "Why can't you see you're being a jerk" "No" "That doesn't make any sense" "No" (if you want to see how funny the 'No' thing seems to me, take a look at this and imagine this sound every time someone says the word no) There are a lot of gay jokes made in this manga too. So, as a guideline: This manga is only for the sexually secure. Maiku's like Darth Vader in this, he hits people without even touching them. You know, Karen and Miina's plan to dress like adults to fool the employers remind me of the stupid tendency for children to sneak into places by standing on each other's shoulders and wearing a large trench coat. And I bring this up again, what's with the security measures of these highschools? It's like every bloody school has an army. Even the students have kendo swords to beat the intruders with. You know, even though it would have been a great plot device to deepen the relationships of Maiku, Karen and Miina by giving them reflecting time in Okinawa, but noooo. They decide to bring in almost every character in existence into this scene. Hell, they even brought a flamboyantly flirty guy in a speedo. Karen at one point says that it's no use and Miina can't win against Tsubaki's breasts. She makes it sound like they are pro wrestlers and you're the wife telling the husband that you can't win (in case you haven't noticed I fucking loved Cinderella Man) So that's what they call losing their virginity in this manga. "Climbing the stairs to adulthood" Random dude, stop trying to get laid with your sister. Again. And these guys are lightweights. One beer=drunk enough for regrettable sex. Way to go Miina. Say "Don't worry I'm fine as long as I don't fall in the ocean" and then fall into it. That's like walking into a gang filled area and bidding farewell to your grandmum and telling her you'll be fine as long as you don't get shot and then someone caps you in the face. What an ignorant mother. Only figures out who her kid is by process of elimination. ONE HAS RED AND ONE HAS GREEN HAIR. HOW HARD IS IT TO REMEMBER YOUR OWN KID? What frustrates me even more is that they accept that so freely. I know that they are orphans and such but I'm pretty sure that if I told a white orphan that some random Asian guy is his real father I'm pretty sure he wouldn't believe that. The ending is confusing and basically a mind rape and I don't even know who is allowed to like who anymore. I would also have appreciated instead of 10 pages of weak comedy a little more insight on the minor characters.

Caramel Diary

OhHaiDer :]

Isn't it funny how people change so drastically right before your eyes?
Just saying.
Anyways
Today I bring you
Caramel Diary~

Caramel Diary

Story & Art: Megumi Mizusawa
Publisher: Shueisha
Rating: Everyone
Synopsis: (mangaupdates.com) Hana loves the school, caramel and...drawing manga! Her speciality: Drawing romance stories! In real life, her heart beats for the cool Taro, but she's too shy to tell him...unfortunately, Marie, her rival, has decided to steal him!

Art Review: 3/5

A cute style. I'm confused as to what ages everyone are however, they say they're about to finish middle school but the bodies of the girls aside from Marie make them look like they're in first grade or something. The fact that Jiro is attracted to Hana just emphasises to the pedobear joke, and you and I both know I make that joke way too many times in these reviews.

Story Review: I've hit an all new record with shoujo. I was able to spot who she really loves in the first 3 pages. Since this is an entirely uneventful manga I'm not afraid to throw out the spoilers. It's Jiro. Why on earth shoujo has to be so predictable, I'll never know. Aww, poor Hana, you're buying into Marie's rival plans. Predictable. Also, why do the rivals always have to be white? Is there some sort of white superiority complex with the Japanese or something? ...Deja vu, I know I've complained about this before somewhere. -shrugs- Poor Taro, just because he doesn't like the main character doesn't mean you have to call him stupid multiple times. Obviously, the mangaka has an obsession with caramel. Which I will make it clear now, I don't like caramel. I don't like it here, I don't like it there, I don't like it anywhere, Sam I Am. Back to the topic at hand, I'm no caramel fan, but I'm pretty sure Banana Cream flavour and caramel is a disgusting combo. Like tomato cookies, or grape juice and milk. But it goes without saying, to each his own, unless it's necrophilia. Hana's like the Japanese Popeye: Eat caramel, do a sailor moon transformation of some sort. Hm, by the structure I know this is a shoujo manga, since when do shoujos get to make a reference to Bizarro? ....Bizzare indeed (someone please shoot me.) Jiro's obviously not that familiar with the structure of shoujo, after stealing her first kiss I don't think you should tell her that you did it because her face was just conveniently close to yours. It's like kicking someone in the ass, and then when the person angrily asks why you did it you just tell them that they were standing close enough for it. Yumiko, Hana's friend, is kinda dirty for a little girl. The whole manga, over the topic of Jiro she starts fantasising about him with his tie loose and his shirt undone with messy hair. You're only in middle school, shame on you. What's with this character Marie? Walking up to Hana out of nowhere saying "I'll accept your challenge" This isn't Pokemon where you'd walk past someone's eyes and they challenge you. Quit being so self centred (though if she did follow through with that request this wouldn't be much of a shoujo anymore, would it? ZING) I can't follow her logic, either. Drawing better manga = hotter and better girlfriend. Laws of reality state that's actually inversely related. Laws of manga state that's completely logical. Marie is frustrated and doesn't know why she's running out of ideas for her manga. Well, that's because even though you are aesthetically better in every single way, your personality sucks and therefore the underdog will always beat you. Wait a minute, the currency is Euros in this manga? I thought they were in Japan. That would explain all the white people in this manga (racist) but that still doesn't explain much. You know, the second time around they make the joke about Hana daydreaming during class makes me think of myself, her teacher must not have a lot of people who like him because he blushes like a school girl when she murmurs that she loves Taro and mistakes it as a confession to him. Marie is a terrible actor, you know. Scream for help in the haunted house, punch what is making you scream in the face, continue asking for help. And as her evil schemes continue I have the feeling she's not so much evil, as she is like Renge from Ouran High School Host Club. At one point in the manga Hana says "When I saw the empty box of caramels I cried." I know this is a metaphor for you having lost Jiro but you're just making yourself sound like a brat. And towards the end I think to myself, despite Yumiko being weird and creepy she's way more mature than Hana. Ironically enough, she looks even younger than Hana. And sorry, I have to bring this back up once more but how is it that the antagonist is even more stupid than the heroine? Or less normal. It's like a joke that's been told multiple times and isn't funny anymore. Overall, this manga was, once again, stereotypical and boring. I'm hugely under the impression that this manga was for children so I feel somewhat bad ripping on it. -sits for a second- Now I don't. Ciao, now.
